It's a month away but why waste time?
We can start to collect ideas for a spring incense mix
some items I've used as ingredients or would like to are
spirulina (green like the budding leaves or the grass breaking ground)
Cinnamon
spring shower water and/or water from the winter i.e. melted snow
seeds like musk seed or poppy seed
a wish and prayer for luck

Re: Vernal Equinox, Spring Recipes and herbs
Sun, March 2, 2008 - 5:21 PMI collected some apricot flowers in bloom
then I've made some flower essence with them
I will be using both in my incense blend
I have yet to uderstand the healing of apricot blossom
but I can tell it is very much so Medicine
but in a subtle gentle pleasing way
Working on my incense recipe now
counting the seconds until my shipment arrive in the mail
will be trying to make a "less smoke" incense
also pink lotus and violet leaf oils
and camphorous ingredients i.e. cardamon, star anise -

Re: Vernal Equinox, Spring Recipes and herbs
Tue, March 11, 2008 - 11:00 PMAs my new batch of spring vernal equinox incense dries,
I compare its intricacies with those found commercially from
incense masters like the bayeido group
morning star
and shiyeido
as well as chinese temple incense I newly acquired
the shape of some are thinner than those of the japanese stickless
though for packaging reasons I made shorter
the beauty of the handmade quality of them versus the perfect rods offered by bigger manufacturers
the smell is slightly sweeter without the weight of frankincense
an ingredient I rarely choose to include
this customized quality the exact reason I choose this art craft
the life vibrating from the rods imbued with apricot blossom flower essence
conversation with a dearly held friend
memories of scents of past victories and their admirers
individually rolled with the slow patience which seemed would run out
and yet stick by stick, eventually
the large dough disappears
as a slew of olfactory stimulators
dry through time by air
and shrink when the water has gone
These sticks in them are
precious ingredients from all of the world
and meditating on them, I wish for a new beginning -

Re: Vernal Equinox, Spring Recipes and herbs
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 4:09 AMWhale oil is central to the Age of Cetus, namely the sun is not in Pisces as it is commonly assumed, but in Cetus. In a couple of days the sun is in Orion, thus Osiris herbs and mummification of the soul. lulu.com/astrology & magick
