I found this at Erowid.com: www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php
And i thought it might be useful info for you even if your intentions are not to ingest the plant. If you were to burn the seeds and be anywhere in the vicinity of the smoke, you could experience effects similar to those mentioned in this fellow's story. It sounds like infusion is the way to go, perhaps as the foundation of a gem elixir.
I would personally dry the whole pods rather than break them open, to keep in harmony with the way they would naturally dry on the vine.

Re: datura info?
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 1:02 PMIf you do the infusion, use very few seeds, or way more water then you think is necessary. Go gentle on yourself, cause Datura is deadly poisonous in certain quantities, and its very easy to excel your limits. I ate a single seed once, and for 6 hours, I felt like I was pleasantly drunk.
Be careful with it in incense too. You don't need alot. Its the signpost, not the bricks in the road. -

Re: datura info?
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 11:15 PMfunny, I've always loved datura and have been cultivating it for 1-2 years. Mainly datura metal. My friend today just gave me a book by carlos castaneda "the teachings of Don Juan: a Yaqui way of knowledge" I'm excited being told that datura is a prominent plant involved in the book. I believe a good read to get a good idea........ -
