Saturn Supreme incense

This is an augmented version of a Saturn incense from Alchemy Works. I like to add some mineral elements (asphaltum, and dragon bones which are fossils) as well as cruelty free animal sheds (crow feather and black cat fur). Try to keep the toxic and stinky elements as a minor part of the composition. The cypress and vetiver are most of the bulk burning materials.
Ingredients: cypress wood, cypress resin, myrrh, vetiver, asafoetida, belladonna, sterile hemp seed, blackthorn, black hellebore, henbane, indigo, mandrake, musk seed, asphaltum, dragon bones, crow feathers, black cat fur, three by three magic square drawn on papyrus and cut into tiny pieces

Cypress resin? Where would one acquire that? Granted, I know what cypress is, I've never heard of--nor seen for sale, anywhere--cypress resin!

My cypress resin was from wild mountain cypress trees and I don't know that you can buy it anywhere. It smells something like a cross between juniper pine and mastic, very dry and ethereal. Perhaps you can go to your local cemetery and look for some nice twisty cypress trees and scrape off a bit....

I apologize in advance if this sounds like I'm questioning your knowledge, but I've only seen cedar trees around my local cemetaries. Maybe it's an Indiana thing? Could you post a picture of your cypress trees, so that I know what one looks like when I see it?

        Blessings.

Oh...and do you use European mandrake or American mandrake?

          Blessings,

No. Those are good questions, expecially since many coniferous trees are called cypress when they are more correctly junipers.
I am in California, so my native cypress is Cupressus macrocarpa, the Monterey cypress. It is the one that I tend to have the most experience with since it grows on the coast. I did not gather the cypress resin I have, it came from someone who lives in the mountains near San Diego and I believe it is Cupressus arizonica, a related species.
I was only making the cemetery comment as a general one, since a number of old cemeteries used to traditionally plant cypress.
The mandrake comes from Alchemy Works and as i recall it is the European variety. The man who owns the business grows a lot of his own herbs from seed so he has some more unusual materials. I would have to check on the wesite to make sure.

Could you share your associations with Saturn and your Saturn Supreme incense?
              sounds fascinating yet creepy

I am interested in astral magic, especially devotional practices concerning the planets, some things that are from arabic magic, such as the Picatrix. This is also partly inspired by vedic practices of remedial astrology where planets that are in some way weak or afflicted in a person's chart or under transit stress are propitiated. And I have a strong relationship with Saturn, so I just eventually tried different variations of incense. This one seems to be powerful in creating an atmosphere for my planetary workings which I generally do on saturdays and/or during the hour of saturn.
